As educator, it is our duty to not only include the First Peoples Principles of Learning into our teaching, but into our own being as an educator. By living and breathing the First Peoples Principles of Learning, we as educators are able to fully teach to each and every one of our students and their needs. As well, we are able to do our due-diligence in moving towards reconciliation.
Here are a few of my favourite lessons that embody some of the First Peoples Principles of Learning:
Learning requires exploration of one’s identity.
Social Studies Family Traditions Gr K
Learning is experiential.
Learning involves patience and time.
Second Language ASL 1-10 Grade K
